Who believes Christmas is almost here? It is always an exciting time of the year for young and old.
We are very busy down in the basement! During November we packed shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child and sent care packages to our soldiers abroad. On December 6th Children's Church will be participating in the Hopewell Christmas parade. It's great to have the opportunity to have a float in the parade and to represent WBC and Christ in our city…
and it's also fun! On December 20th during Sunday School and Children's Church we will be having our Second Annual Cookie Bake for our shut-ins. This was a lot of fun last year and it's a great way to teach our children to reach out to others at this special time of year! This year our Cookie Bake will be combined with a party to make it even better! Have your children come dressed ready to bake and decorate cookies (and eat a few too!)
A special welcome to Fran Roach, our new adult helper! Fran has agreed to help in Betty Light's absence and is a great asset to our program. Take a minute to meet and greet her when you pick up your child next time.
We will be starting a new activity soon to try to get our children to read their Bible daily. We will be sending home bookmarks with a few short passages to read (or be read to) that follow a theme for the week. Check off each night and bring them back on Sunday for a treat! I really feel that it is important to get in the habit of reading your Bible everyday at an early age. Please take the time to encourage or help your child to read these verses. You will both be blessed!

As the New Year approaches, many of us think of resolutions that we want to make. Remember it is never too late to start following Christ the way He wants us to. Maybe you want to start serving in some capacity or maybe it is more private such as spending more time in prayer, reading your Bible daily, attending church more regularly or just taking more time to be still and listen to God speak. Whatever is on your heart to live closer to God is a great resolution!
In these uncertain times, don't worry about tomorrow....God is already there!
Having fun serving with your children,
In His Service,
Susan Marks
