Preschool Volunteer Spotlight

E-mail Print PDF

For the month of August the Preschool Department would like to put the spotlight on Alyssa Bell and Carrie Hendricks. These two ladies have gladly volunteered to teach our 1s and 2s on Wednesdays during the summer months. This was a wonderful blessing to me! They jumped right in enthusiastically and are teaching these children based on the theme

“Fun in the Sun”. They work well together as a team! They teach songs and poems, read books, and creating art with the kids! I am so very impressed with their willingness to serve even during the summer months. So many people take the summer off from God – but not these two! They didn’t wait three weeks for AWANA to be over and Alyssa came to saying that she and Carrie were having “AWANA withdrawals”. Once you get teaching kids in your heart as well as Jesus, you want to do what God designed you to do. They joyfully serve God each Wednesday night whether they have two or six children! I am truly glad for their service! Thank you Carrie and Alyssa! I appreciate you both so much! I am honored to serve with you in the Preschool Department!

THE NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL YEAR IS COMING!

Dedicated Volunteers Needed!

Our new Sunday school year is beginning on September 6th. I am looking for dedicated volunteers to assist in the Preschool Department during Sunday school. If you are tired of living on “milk” and would like to try some “meat”, you might want to try the Preschool Department. What an exciting time you could have! Please pray whether our Lord is asking you to move on from receiving His word to teaching His word. Come see me in the Preschool department if He is speaking to you. I would gladly discuss the opportunities in our department and pray with you to determine God’s next step in your service to Him.

HAGGAI PROJECT – GOD AT WORK!

God is continuing to press on in this area although not as quickly as this fleshly person would like. I do praise God for the volunteers who continue to come forth. Mr. Drumheller will be working on the open door frames going down the hall as he covers them up with sheetrock. We will then need to continue the paint down the hall and on the cinderblock wall opposite it as well. If you would like to donate your time to paint, let me know.

In the kitchen, the sink is awaiting its countertop. Once Jason returns from Romania, we hope to get the countertop and sink installed. Then we will tile the backsplash. We did acquire a refrigerator in better condition! Praise the Lord! Slowly and patiently we wait on the next steps! Don’t give up on us – it will get done! :)

PRESCHOOL VOLUNTEER FORMS

All wonderful volunteers who serve in the Preschool Department need to fill out and return a preschool volunteer form. Please see me if you have not done so! I appreciate each of you!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

CROCODILE DOCK!

I have already secured some awesome volunteers for our Preschool Department VBS! Here they are:

Infants – Mrs. Jane Drumright

Ones – Miss Jordan Jarrett

Twos – Miss Jennifer Dickey

*Assistants may be needed for each of these listed above.

Let me know if you are interested.

Leaders for 3s, 4s, and 5s

Bible Adventures & Missions Leaders

Mr. Todd and Mrs. Amy Harrell

Games Leaders

Mr. Joe and Mrs. Laura LeDoux

Chadder’s Theater Leader

Mrs. Amanda Hill

Craft and Play Leader

Mrs. Vera Bercaw

Now, the question is, where will you serve? I have at least 6 openings for crew leaders. We will not have a teacher for 3s, 4s, or 5s but a crew leader for a group of 3s, 4s, and 5s year olds. At the most you will have 5 kids in your crew with varying ages. For example, you may have two 3 year olds, one 4 year old, and one 5 year old. You will take those children to each of the events listed above and interact with them as they complete the activities. You do not have to prepare anything but your heart! Be open to come, enjoy the evening, and learn about the kids in your crew as they learn about the love of Jesus!

Joyfully Serving Him,

Michelle Smith

If you are interested in providing snacks for Children’s Choirs on Sunday evenings, please contact Janet Jarrett.   In the past we have enjoyed ice-cream Sundaes, snow cones, cookies, chips, cupcakes, and just about anything!  We usually provide for 20-25 children on Sunday evenings.  Please contact Janet Jarrett if interested in helping with the snacks!
