Not many things are for sure in this old world except dying. When a person dies, it is final, there are no second chances as some might want to believe. Hebrews 9:27 and 28 points out that "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." John 3:16 gives us the reason for Jesus dying for our sins "For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." As the jailor asked Paul "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" The Word of God provides the answer:

1. REPENT OF YOUR SINS-Repent and do works that will give evidence of repentance.  Repentance is not just feeling sorry for your sins; it is turning away from your sin and turning to God through Jesus Christ.

2. PLACE YOUR FAITH IN JESUS-Placing your faith in Jesus is not just believing the facts about Jesus.  It is giving Jesus control of your life trusting Him to save you and guide you.  The Bible says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it's the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8

3. SURRENDER TO JESUS AS LORD-Surrendering to Jesus as Lord is not just saying we give our lives to Jesus, it is calling on Him as the only one who can save your soul.  The Bible says, "For there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

If you would be willing to do these three things, pray a prayer like this one:

    Dear Lord,

I know I've sinned and I know now that without Repentance, Faith, and Surrender; you cannot be my Lord.  Dear Jesus, I ask you to forgive me of all my sins.  I place my faith in you and I surrender to you as Lord of my life.  Come into my heart and save my soul.  Today Lord I give my heart and my life to you.
        In Jesus Name,
        Amen
